Material Management Supervisor

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and uphold a thorough understanding of Primoris' Procurement and Material Management protocols. Act as the main point of contact between the Site Material Specialists (SMS) logistics team, site personnel, and the Procurement department regarding material-related issues.
  • Liaise with vendors, suppliers, and the construction team concerning delivery timelines and all material-related inquiries.
  • Employ various components of the Procurement module, including Requisitions, Purchase Orders, Purchase Contracts, Owner Supplied, Receiving, and Reporting.
  • Offer direction and oversight to Site Material Specialists (SMS).
  • Collaborate with Safety, Compliance, and Quality teams to support construction activities at the project site.
  • Cultivate and sustain positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and project teams to enhance the company's standing. Aid the site management team in promoting and embodying the company's values and culture while representing the organization professionally.
  • Assist in final inventory recovery and job site demobilization processes.
  • Undertake additional tasks as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Material/Inventory Management, Logistics, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Material/Inventory Management or a related field.
  • Experience in training and mentoring teams on industrial or commercial construction projects is preferred.

PREFERRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Familiarity with the Utility Scale PV industry or Renewable Energy and relevant inventory software (SAP or similar ERP systems) is preferred.
  • Understanding of Procurement and Inventory Management processes.
  • Knowledge of inventory and auditing processes, including implementation.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional communication skills (oral, written, presentation) and team-building abilities.
  • Capability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong presentation skills are essential, with the ability to present to groups of 10 or more.
  • A commitment to safety is paramount, with OSHA 30 certification being a plus.
  • Bilingual candidates are preferred.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% is required.
