Material Management Supervisor

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and uphold a thorough understanding of Primoris' Procurement and Material Management systems. Act as the main point of contact between the SMS logistics team, site personnel, and the Procurement department regarding material issues.
  • Liaise with vendors, suppliers, and the construction team to coordinate delivery timelines and address all material-related concerns.
  • Leverage various components of the Procurement module, such as Requisitions, Purchase Orders, Purchase Contracts, Owner Supplied items, Receiving, and Reporting.
  • Provide leadership and direction to Site Material Specialists (SMS).
  • Collaborate with Safety, Compliance, and Quality teams to support construction activities at the project site.
  • Foster and maintain strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and project teams to enhance the company's standing. Support the site management team in promoting company values and culture while representing the organization professionally.
  • Assist in final inventory reconciliation and job site demobilization processes.
  • Undertake additional tasks as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Material/Inventory Management, Logistics, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Material/Inventory Management or a related field is required.
  • Experience in training and mentoring teams on industrial or commercial construction projects is preferred.

PREFERRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Familiarity with the Utility Scale PV industry or Renewable Energy and relevant inventory management software (such as SAP or similar ERP systems) is preferred.
  • Understanding of Procurement and Inventory Management processes.
  • Knowledge of inventory and auditing processes, including implementation.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication skills (oral, written, presentation) and team-building abilities.
  • Capability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent presentation skills are essential, with the ability to present to groups of 10 or more.
  • A commitment to safety is paramount, with OSHA 30 certification being a plus.
  • Bilingual candidates are preferred.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% is required.
