Role ResponsibilitiesThe Anesthesia Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of anesthesia services. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the lifting, transferring, and positioning of patients, ensuring that all necessary positioning devices are readily available.
- Coordinating the maintenance and repair of anesthesia equipment, adhering to established protocols for troubleshooting and equipment availability.
- Managing the inventory of anesthesia supplies, adjusting stock levels based on usage, and overseeing the procurement process.
- Maintaining and cleaning anesthesia machines and monitors, ensuring they are calibrated and ready for surgical procedures.
- Organizing the anesthesia workroom, including the cleaning and decontamination of equipment to meet health and safety standards.
- Securing specialized supplies and equipment in urgent situations, collaborating with supply management for timely procurement.
To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 6 months of training or experience in medical equipment maintenance or supply management (preferred).
- A practical understanding of basic medical instruments and procedures (preferred).
- Knowledge of medical terminology to interpret physician instructions (preferred).
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
Travel is rarely required for this position.
