Job Summary

Orlando Health is seeking a highly skilled Cardiovascular Technologist II to join our Electrophysiology Unit. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention for cardiovascular procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality patient care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures and protocols.
  • Assess patient physical condition and age-specific needs to ensure optimal care.
  • Ensure patient education on procedure performed, needs, safety, and comfort while in their care.
  • Acquire and document patient clinical history and verify files and records for completeness and accuracy.
  • Position patients and equipment to achieve high-quality images for interpretation.
  • Assess processed image media for technical quality and patient identification.
  • Apply principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
  • Provide physiological and hemodynamic monitoring during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
  • Support physicians as a scrub assistant for cardiovascular procedures.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of aseptic technique and appraise and evaluate actual and potential hemostasis of a vessel post-procedure.
  • Locate, use, and troubleshoot complex technical equipment and act as a resource for its operation and training.
  • Maintain customer service skills in communication with all staff, visitors, and co-workers.
  • Maintain adequate inventory levels of supplies, equipment, resources, tools, and forms.
  • Understand application and technical aspects of all equipment and supplies used in all procedures.
  • Ensure case turnover time is within established department standards by maintaining proper workflow and prioritizing optimal patient care.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required, including department preceptor, charge, quality initiative, and performance improvement initiative.
Requirements
  • One (1) year experience in Cardiac required.
  • Education/Training in Cardiovascular Technologist, Respiratory Therapy, or Radiologic Technology.
  • Licensure/Certification in CVT, RRT, CRT, or Rad Tech.
  • Paramedic certification (not applicable for new hires).
