Overview

Portland City Grill is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction and maintaining the highest standards of quality and service.

Responsibilities
  • Lead by example and demonstrate a "Do Whatever It Takes Attitude" to ensure exceptional guest satisfaction.
  • Assist the Executive Chef in managing back of house staff, including training, development, and follow-up.
  • Manage labor and other cost centers to achieve or exceed budgeted targets.
  • Oversee weekly and monthly inventories, and ordering of food and supplies.
  • Maintain sanitation procedures and organization of work area, adhering to all OSHA regulations.
Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of Culinary Management experience in an upscale/fine dining establishment.
  • Strong knowledge and attention to detail on back of house operations, including staff supervision, inventory controls, and food/labor cost.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Stable and progressive work history; strong work ethic.
  • Graduate of an accredited culinary program is a plus.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 to $70,000 per year, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
