Program Overview:

The Quantitative Analytics Program offers a comprehensive introduction to Wells Fargo, equipping you with the skills to develop, implement, calibrate, or validate quantitative models. This program is structured to provide a mix of technical, business, and professional development experiences that integrate real-world applications, preparing you for a successful career at Wells Fargo. Following two six-month rotations, you will be integrated into a team aligned with your program track.

The Risk Analytics & Decision Science track focuses on statistical, econometric, and machine learning/AI models for various applications, including loss and revenue forecasting, credit evaluations, financial crime analysis, fair lending practices, operational risk assessments, and the examination of unstructured data such as text and audio.

Placement groups include:
  • Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Model Development
  • Risk Modeling Group - Forecast Model Development
  • Risk Modeling Group - Decision Model Development
  • Consumer Model Development Center
  • Model Risk Management
In this position, you will:
  • Engage in mathematical model development and validation under the guidance of seasoned team members utilizing programming languages such as Python, R, C++, SAS, SQL, or others.
  • Contribute to a team that devises solutions to business challenges and enhances risk management protocols.
  • Articulate solutions to stakeholders through both verbal presentations and written documentation.
  • Stay informed about industry challenges and innovative modeling techniques employed across Wells Fargo to address business issues or improve operational capabilities.
Ideal candidate profile:
  • Strong ability to convey concepts and ideas, both verbally and in writing, and to clarify technical information for non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in areas such as data analysis, statistical modeling, machine learning/AI, data management, and computing.
  • Proactive self-starter with a genuine curiosity and a commitment to learning and personal growth.
Program Length: 24 months (Year 1: training and 2 rotations; Year 2: permanent placement)

Required Qualifications:
  • 6+ months of relevant work experience, or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military service, or education.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or higher with an anticipated graduation date within the next year, focusing on Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Quantitative Finance, Operations Research, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Proficient programming skills and experience with statistical software packages such as Python, R, SAS, SQL, Spark, C++, and Java.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Capability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, change-oriented environment.
  • Engagement in extracurricular activities such as volunteer work, student organizations, leadership roles, or non-profit involvement.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
