Truist Financial Corporation - Risk Management Program Consultant
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and oversee change and regulatory risk, external factors, data integrity, model accuracy, third-party engagements, and cyber threats in alignment with the designated business unit. Ensure effective monitoring and governance of issue management processes.
- Contribute to the evolution and enhancement of the organization's risk frameworks to align with regulatory standards.
- Act as a subject matter authority for Operational Risk Management (ORM) and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) initiatives, providing constructive feedback on program modifications and updates. Engage in relevant working groups focused on risk initiatives.
- Facilitate communication, training, and adherence monitoring for business partners and Global Compliance and Operational Risk (GCO) colleagues regarding updates in risk frameworks; offer guidance on effective implementation and share best practices.
- Serve as a liaison between the GCO, first line personnel, and second line risk program leaders/risk collaborators.
- Provide insights and recommendations for revisions to pertinent policies and procedures related to risk program execution.
- Develop collaborative relationships with business unit leaders and second and third line risk partners.
- Prepare and present materials in various leadership meetings and committees.
- Guide and mentor colleagues within the risk execution team.
Qualifications Required:
A Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related academic discipline, or equivalent education and experience. A minimum of five years of experience in risk management within the financial services sector or a related field. Strong leadership and communication capabilities. Proficient in critical and strategic thinking, multitasking, and driving organizational change. Excellent quantitative, governance, and analytical skills. Ability to effectively challenge senior leadership. Demonstrated proficiency in standard computer applications, including Microsoft Office. Willingness to travel occasionally, including overnight trips.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Master's degree in Finance or a related academic discipline.
- Financial Risk Manager (FRM) or Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) designation or equivalent advanced risk certification.
