Bridge Engineer Job Description

Garver Engineering is seeking a skilled Bridge Engineer to join our team. As a Bridge Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and load rating of simple and continuous span prestressed bridges, as well as designing and load rating of simple and continuous span steel bridges.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and load rating of bridges
  • Design of retaining wall and sign support structures
  • Bridge repair/rehabilitation design
  • Bridge inspection
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET program
  • 5-10 years of experience
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office
  • Design and detailing experience with prestressed concrete, reinforced concrete, and structural steel
  • Experience with MicroStation, structural analysis and design software
Preferred Skills:
  • Master's degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program with structural emphasis
  • Familiarity with the American Association of Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) Bridge Design Specifications
  • Experience in planning and design for bridges
  • Experience and familiarity with MoDOT EPG including design and plan preferences
