Senior Software Engineer, Streaming Solutions

Are you passionate about transforming the way audiences engage with video content across various devices such as TVs, tablets, and smart assistants?
We are developing an innovative and complimentary streaming platform known as Fire TV Channels. Our mission is to deliver an enjoyable and tailored experience for users seeking content in categories like News, Sports, Cooking, Gaming, Entertainment, and Lifestyle.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with engineering teams and product stakeholders to bring our ambitious vision to life.
Utilizing cutting-edge technologies, including Generative AI, you will help design and implement personalization and recommendation systems from the ground up. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring our customers discover content that resonates with them.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work alongside product and UX teams to convert product specifications into technical requirements.
- Design and develop highly scalable systems that meet Amazon's operational standards.
- Collaborate with applied scientists to create machine learning and heuristic-based personalization solutions.
- Conduct A/B testing to enhance user engagement.
- Gain proficiency in advanced technologies and algorithms, particularly in Generative AI, to support our goal of creating a beloved streaming service.
- Construct scalable data pipelines to gather diverse features.
- Mentor junior engineers and uphold best practices within the team.
A Day in the Life:
Your objective will be to provide users with content they adore with minimal effort. You will work closely with the product team to help realize this vision.
Participate in and lead design reviews to create innovative solutions that incorporate machine learning and Generative AI technologies. Collaborate with your team and partner teams to navigate complex challenges.
Engage with junior engineers, offering mentorship while also learning from your talented colleagues.
Basic Qualifications:
- 3+ years of professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of experience in designing or architecting new and existing systems.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience throughout the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
- Experience with Generative AI and Machine Learning technologies.
- Experience in conducting A/B testing.
- Experience collaborating with product managers and UX teams.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across various US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is determined by several factors, including market location and may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Amazon is a total compensation company. Depending on the position offered, equity, sign-on bonuses, and other forms of compensation may be included as part of a total compensation package, alongside a comprehensive range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
