We are seeking a highly skilled Health Insurance Specialist to join our team at the US Department of Health and Human Services. As a key member of our Congressional Affairs Group, you will serve as a liaison between CMS and Congress, providing expert analysis and support on Medicare, Medicaid, and private health insurance programs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide information to congressional staffs, government agencies, and outside organizations on CMS program policies and initiatives.
- Conduct in-depth analyses and special studies of policy issues and topics related to Medicare, Medicaid, and private health insurance programs.
- Participate in teams that provide analytical and decision support capabilities to identify, analyze, and track issues impacting Medicare, Medicaid, and private health insurance programs.
- Work with key officials to resolve problems and plan events pertaining to Medicare, Medicaid, and private health insurance program policies.
- Prepare option papers, memoranda, operational policy letters, correspondence, reports, and other documents to support senior CMS officials at meetings.
- You must be a U.S. Citizen or National to apply for this position.
- You will be subject to a background and suitability investigation.
To qualify for the GS-12 level, you must meet the following requirements:
- You must demonstrate at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector.
- Experience must include reviewing and analyzing proposed policies regarding Medicare, Medicaid, and private health insurance programs.
- Experience must also include producing written documents for management, including briefing documents, reports, issue papers, or decision memoranda regarding Medicare, Medicaid, and private health insurance programs.
- Experience must include preparing leadership for congressional meetings regarding Medicare, Medicaid, and private health insurance programs.
