Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with extensive experience in acute and intensive care settings to provide high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will work closely with healthcare professionals, monitor patient responses to respiratory therapy, operate and maintain specialized equipment, and provide emergency care when needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Patient Monitoring: Monitor physiological responses to therapy, such as arterial blood gases, vital signs, blood chemistry, and lung function changes. Consult with physicians if adverse reactions occur.
  • Collaborative Care: Work as part of a healthcare team, assisting with medical procedures to ensure the highest standard of patient care.
  • Equipment Operation: Set up and operate respiratory devices, including mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators, following specified treatment parameters.
  • Emergency Care: Provide emergency interventions, such as external cardiac massage, artificial respiration, or cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
  • Equipment Maintenance: Inspect, test, clean, and maintain respiratory therapy equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. Make emergency visits to resolve equipment malfunctions when necessary, and arrange for repairs as needed.
  • Patient Assessments: Measure and evaluate arterial blood gases, lung capacity, and other respiratory data to assess patient condition. Relay blood analysis results to physicians for further action.
  • Patient Education: Explain treatment procedures and therapies to patients to ensure understanding and cooperation, improving the efficacy of care.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate patient records, including identification, therapy details, and treatment responses.
  • Pulmonary Function Testing: Conduct pulmonary function assessments and report findings to inform treatment plans.
Job Requirements:
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 years of acute care RRT experience.
    • Minimum of 3 years of ICU experience.
    • Trauma or stroke experience preferred.
  • Certification & Licensure:
    • National NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
    • Texas RRT licensure.
    • BLS certification (AHA only).
    • ACLS certification (AHA only).
  • Education:
    • Proof of high school diploma and college transcripts for CAP compliance.
Certification: Basic Life Support , Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
