Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at IU Health Methodist Hospital. As a Travel Respiratory Therapist, you will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team and provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide respiratory care to patients with a variety of conditions, including respiratory failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and pneumonia.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, including aerosolized medications and oxygen therapy.
  • Operate and maintain respiratory equipment, including ventilators, oxygen concentrators, and nebulizers.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Conduct patient assessments and monitor patient progress, making adjustments to care plans as needed.
Requirements
  • Current certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP).
  • 18 months of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, with a minimum of 6 months of experience in a critical care setting.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with other healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with conscious sedation and IV start.
  • Ability to work in a perioperative setting.
  • Experience with telemetry and vent management.
