Job Summary

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading and executing projects from inception to completion within a defined budget and scope. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills to motivate and guide teams to achieve project goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead domestic and international projects through all milestone phases, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Facilitate relationships between customers and the company, providing exceptional customer service and communication.
  • Determine project budgets in collaboration with stakeholders and manage projects to achieve or exceed profit expectations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to monitor project progress, identify and mitigate risks, and develop action plans to ensure project success.
  • Construct project timelines, monitor and manage those timelines to achieve all delivery milestones.
  • Organize project meetings, track and report project progress, and follow up on action items.
  • Facilitate team reviews of milestones, identify potential operational issues, and propose solutions.
  • Establish and maintain long-term, positive working relationships with internal teams, customers, and suppliers.
  • Direct engineers in the successful delivery of technical projects, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Manage project variations in a timely manner, ensuring clear agreement with customers.
  • Assist in achieving company strategic objectives by aligning resources with goals and pursuing opportunities that meet departmental objectives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or Business Discipline or 5-7 years of Project Management experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs, such as Project, Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Ability to maintain data within current ERP system; proficiency with SAP preferred.
  • 2-4 years working knowledge of manufacturing type contracts, preferably in the machine tool, automation, and/or industrial washer industries.
  • 2-4 years working knowledge of equipment, process, and commonly used design practices for Balancing Equipment and Automation.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, controls, and software engineering terms and principles.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to adapt to tight timelines, work with limited resources, and deliver on time and within scope.
  • Ability and willingness to learn about new products and components quickly and effectively to meet deadlines and budget restrictions.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of SAP, Excel, and other computer-based software programs.
  • Proficient in project management, with high analytical and organizational skills, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Understand and possess the ability to communicate technical concepts to other team members and customers.
  • Ability to work with little direction and/or supervision.
  • Basic understanding of accounting and finance principles.

  • Requires excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to find ways to work under pressure and still make deadlines without cutting corners or endangering the safety of oneself or others, or the integrity of the equipment and the employer as a whole.
  • Requires ability to interact professionally with customers and suppliers who may occasionally be difficult to deal with.
  • Intermediate leadership capabilities and an ability to work with all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to resolve conflict while keeping relationships intact.
  • Domestic and International travel to customer sites, which may include weekends and holidays.
Work Environment
  • Work primarily done in an office environment.
  • Occasionally walks into shop area where possible exposure to hazards such as electrical equipment, cranes, forklifts, high voltage, chemicals, biohazards, and manufacturing equipment.
