Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Shop Crane Technician to join our team at Manitowoc Co. The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of various crane equipment, including mobile cranes and boom trucks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and inspect cranes to diagnose defects and ensure proper operation
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of CANBUS, PAT, EKS, ECOS & MEGA-TRACK system
  • Examine parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges
  • Read and interpret operating manuals, parts manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings
  • Test mechanical, electronic, electrical, and hydraulic products and equipment after repair or modification
  • Prepare for jobs by checking parts and drawings for accuracy and completeness
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and maintain a high level of productivity
  • Perform thorough and accurate annual inspections
  • Maintain conformity to safety requirements and other regulations
  • Document work activities, hours worked, and expenses incurred
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Mechanic/Technician
  • History of working with different forms of mobile crane equipment, specifically Grove RT and TMS Cranes; Grove GMK European Cranes; Manitowoc EPIC and/or Traditional Cranes; National Boom Trucks; Manitex Boom Trucks and Cranes
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to purchase and maintain a full set of hand tools
  • Manufacture-approved training/certifications preferred
Working Conditions
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to extreme temperatures, weather conditions, and physical demands
  • Occasional lifting and/or moving of up to 40 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required, including close vision, distance vision, color, and peripheral vision
