Overview

At the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, we are dedicated to providing exceptional patient care and advancing the field of nephrology. We are seeking a highly skilled Nephrology Care Specialist to join our team.

Salary

The estimated annual salary for this position is $110,000 - $140,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

Job Description

As a Nephrology Care Specialist, you will work closely with patients and healthcare teams to provide high-quality care for individuals with kidney disease. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive initial and ongoing physical examinations
  • Synthesizing data to develop and implement patient care plans
  • Demonstrating proficiency in technical/procedural skills
  • Providing education and counseling to patients and families

You will also have opportunities to participate in quality-related initiatives and clinical research projects to improve patient care and outcomes.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A master's degree or higher from an accredited Physician Assistant program or nursing program
  • Certification by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
  • Previous experience caring for patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD)
