Fleet Maintenance Technician Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Fleet Maintenance Technician to join our team at PepsiCo North America Beverages. As a Fleet Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic and repair work on a variety of vehicles, including automobiles, trucks, vans, and forklifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues with vehicles
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition
  • Work with a high degree of independence to complete tasks and meet deadlines
  • Use computer-based diagnostics and interface with modern truck interfaces to diagnose and repair issues
  • Adhere to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and maintain accurate records
  • Collaborate with other technicians and team members to ensure efficient and effective maintenance operations

Requirements:

  • Valid Class A CDL license or ability to obtain one within 6 months of employment
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Ability to pass DOT physical and DOT Road Test (if applicable)
  • Ability to pass Forklift Driving Skills test (if applicable)
  • Mechanical knowledge of gas and diesel repair
  • Experience with hydraulic and air brake systems
  • Knowledge of internal combustible engines
  • Knowledge of Preventative Maintenance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience repairing forklifts and other heavy equipment
  • Knowledge of manufacturing standards and ability to work with computer-based systems
  • Experience driving trucks requiring a Class A or B CDL
