Job Summary

Dean's Professional Services is seeking a qualified Registered Dietitian I to join our team at a Hospital in the Houston, TX area. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and monitoring patient nutrition while providing nutritional education and guidance to advise patients on food, diet, and nutrition.

Key Responsibilities
  • Counsel patients on basic and high-risk nutritional needs, develop treatment plans, and coordinate care with other health professionals.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of patient nutrition care and provide follow-up continuity of care, including information for educational purposes.
  • Instruct patients and families in nutritional principles, develop patient teaching materials, and assess patient and family feedback to education.
  • Market and promote nutrition services through communication with area health professionals.
  • Display leadership in area of practice, formulate proper patient care procedures, and act as liaison with nursing areas.
  • Interpret and disseminate current scientific information regarding food, nutrition, diet, and health to other health professionals.
  • Provide information to health and community agencies on the nutritional phases of food programs.
  • Engage in continuous quality improvement activities to ensure optimization in nutrition care outcomes.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition from an accredited or approved education program.
  • Registered Dietitian by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Maintain dietetic registration and continuing education hours as specified by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and state licensure regulations where applicable.
  • Current license by Texas State Board of Examiners of Dietitians.
  • BLS is required.
