Job Summary

AvaMed Workforce is seeking a highly skilled Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor to join our team in a Full-Time capacity. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality mental health services to patients in a correctional facility setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial mental health evaluations, including assessments of patient needs and treatment recommendations.
  • Provide crisis intervention services, including consultation and support to patients and staff.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, in collaboration with the interdisciplinary treatment team.
  • Conduct clinically sound suicide risk evaluations and provide recommendations for patient care.
  • Meet with patients for group psychotherapy, in-person interviews, and other therapeutic sessions.
  • Document all care provided to patients, including in-person contacts and Interdisciplinary Treatment Team meetings.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Collaborate with medical personnel, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities, including Quality Improvement Teams and Root Cause Analysis.
Requirements
  • Must be a licensed professional clinical counselor in the state of California.
  • Must have experience working in a correctional facility setting or a similar environment.
  • Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
