About the Job

The Bar Association of San Francisco is seeking a highly skilled CIS Mediator and Clinical Resources Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with the Senior Mediator for Supportive Housing to lead on designated conflicts, situational analysis, prep calls, initial investigation and inquiries, when mental and behavioral health conditions are present.

You will conduct initial case development to understand the disputant's situation in response to dispute resolution inquiries received through the CIS Helpline and CIS email. Your expertise will guide parties toward mutual agreement, including obtaining information and prepare settlement agreements. Additionally, you will provide trainings for internal and external partners on mental and behavioral health topics.

Responsibilities
  • Lead on designated conflicts, situational analysis, prep calls, initial investigation and inquiries, when mental and behavioral health conditions are present
  • Conduct initial case development to understand the disputant's situation in response to dispute resolution inquiries received through the CIS Helpline and CIS email
  • Facilitate communication between disputants to guide parties toward mutual agreement, including obtaining information and prepare settlement agreements
  • Provide trainings for internal and external partners on mental and behavioral health topics
Requirements
  • B.A. or Master's in Social Work, Psychology or Counseling preferred
  • Experience may substitute for education
  • Certified Mediator will be a plus
  • Familiarity with rules, regulations and policies in public housing
  • Familiarity with landlord-tenant conflicts
  • Clinical or social services advocacy in San Francisco
  • Specialized clinical psychology or social services education
  • Expertise on mental and behavioral health topics
  • Experience working with people with mental health conditions and/or mental and physical disabilities
  • Experience providing trauma-informed, experiential trainings
  • Experience with crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
