The Senior Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the operational integrity of our environmental, health, and safety protocols across various locations.

This position is integral to the facility's EHS framework, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, Wisconsin DNR, DOT, and other pertinent regulations, thereby promoting a secure and healthy workplace.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Regulatory Compliance Monitoring: Conduct internal audits for EHS activities across multiple sites.
  • Training and Development: Lead regional training initiatives related to EHS practices.
  • Strategic Support: Champion the EHS Drive to Zero programs and serve as a subject matter expert for multiple facilities.
  • Worksite Analysis: Collaborate with cross-functional teams on new projects and processes.
  • Hazard Prevention: Guide incident investigations to identify root causes and preventive measures.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Oversee emergency action plans and promote waste reduction initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of experience in occupational safety and environmental program implementation.
  • 3 years of experience in a multi-site manufacturing or industrial setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in occupational safety, engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in a corporate safety role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with safety-related program implementation (ISO, VPP, etc.).
  • Prior experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
  • Relevant certifications such as CHMM, CSP, CIH, or PE.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • In-depth understanding of OSHA, EPA, WDNR, DOT, and local regulations.
  • Proficient knowledge of safety equipment and standards.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with diverse teams across the organization.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Financial and analytical skills to assess project impacts.

Physical Demands:

This role requires regular standing, walking, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted. Employees may encounter typical manufacturing conditions, including temperature variations and exposure to fumes.
