Position Overview
The Senior Manager of Technical Teams is tasked with overseeing the ABAP, EDI, Basis, Security, and .NET divisions, enhancing their expertise and capabilities to align with organizational demands. This role involves leading a blend of onsite and remote personnel across various technology platforms, working collaboratively with temporary teams composed of Developers, Functional and Business Analysts, as well as cross-functional business stakeholders to ensure that business objectives are achieved through technically sound solutions.
An adept Senior Manager who excels in both Enterprise Applications development initiatives and personnel management. This individual should be skilled in executing highly intricate projects and is comfortable engaging directly with business stakeholders and/or project management. Responsibilities include landscape architecture and adherence to technical design best practices. In this capacity, you will guide all technical disciplines, supervise technical solution design, proactively manage the systems landscape and architecture, and cultivate a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver technical leadership while continuously refining development standards, frameworks, guidelines, and methodologies.
- Oversee the design, development, performance validation, and testing strategies to ensure that technical solutions meet quality benchmarks.
- Foster proactive, responsive relationships with IT team members and business users to comprehend upcoming business requirements and provide insights into development capacity planning and utilization.
- Design, develop, and implement quality solutions across the application landscape that are maintainable, advocating for the appropriate use of development, customization, and related best practices.
- Ensure a consistent level of service and problem resolution through effective management of tickets and system issues, conducting root cause analyses, and implementing learnings to prevent recurrence of prior issues.
- Supervise the quality of deliverables, including design, code, and development reviews, while adhering to established change control processes and release/transport management schedules.
- Manage resource allocation, capacity utilization, and the delivery of development teams.
- Guide team members (both onsite and remote) and provide mentorship to promote success and professional growth.
- Contribute to IT project governance reviews and provide necessary application governance in support of organizational standards.
- Actively seek to understand business needs and propose solutions that align across business units; drive vision and strategy for the team and applications, with a strategic understanding of how the group's technology contributes to Information Systems and overall strategy.
- Identify opportunities to coach and recognize employees directly, providing timely feedback for reflection and improvement.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in SAP development.
- 7+ years of management experience in application architecture, design, and implementation.
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience in people development, including performance reviews, guidance, and mentoring of team members.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience troubleshooting and debugging complex integrated applications within SAP.
- In-depth knowledge of the data model of various SAP applications and table structures is essential.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Expertise in Landscape Architecture for SAP and non-SAP environments, both on-premises and in the cloud.
- Experience hosting SAP and non-SAP applications in a hyperscaler environment (e.g., AWS).
- Strong ABAP development experience in SAP S/4HANA environments.
- Solid understanding of SAP security concepts.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Basis.
- Proficient in EDI development within IBM B2Bi applications.
- Working knowledge of .NET programming.
- Good understanding of various functional areas such as FI, SD, MM, PP, and WM.
