As a RN Specialist at Bethesda, your primary responsibility will be to assess the health status of residents and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and update personalized care plans. You will maintain high standards of nursing practices while ensuring timely interventions and effective communication.

You will be responsible for monitoring residents' conditions, providing direct care, and addressing any issues that arise with professionalism and critical thinking. This includes assessing residents' educational and environmental needs, communicating significant changes in condition to the interdisciplinary team, and documenting all assessments accurately. Additionally, you will develop dynamic care plans through an interdisciplinary approach involving physicians, residents, families, and other team members. These care plans will be reviewed and revised as the resident's needs, problems, and goals change. You will also communicate the plan to the appropriate team members along with the residents and families, and document it accurately on admission, cognition change, or regulatory requirements for care planning.

Your role requires identifying necessary nursing interventions relevant to the plan of care, which may include medication administration, treatments, and IV fluid administrations accomplished in a safe and timely manner. You will also use critical thinking skills when dealing with residents' change in condition, notifying the physician timely using the SBARR communication tool. Furthermore, you will handle crisis situations such as family dissatisfaction, staff disputes, or inclement weather in a calm and professional manner, maintaining composure while actively addressing the situation for immediate problem resolution. You will remain knowledgeable about the status of the resident to quickly identify behavioral changes or other untoward signs or symptoms, assisting in answering call lights, and supporting with resident care such as ADLs.

This position offers a competitive salary, estimated to be around $75,000-$85,000 per year, based on experience and location. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, prescription, and life insurance available for regular status full and part-time employees. Full-time RNs can earn up to $6,000 Sign-on Bonus. Other benefits include 403b, daily pay, bonuses, career advancement opportunities, and holiday pay.

This role is ideal for registered nurses seeking a challenging and rewarding opportunity in long-term care. To succeed in this position, you must possess a current RN license in the state where you will be working, CPR/AED certification, and have excellent communication and time management skills. Long-term care experience is preferred but not required.
