Job Summary

Sea Mar Community Health Centers is seeking a skilled Group Life Counselor I, II or III to join our Behavioral Health Department in Seattle. As a member of our multi-disciplinary treatment team, you will provide direct services to patients in a residential setting, including group care, intake procedures, evaluation, individual and group counseling, milieu management, and supervision of patients.

This is a full-time position available for evening, graveyard, or day shift. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of chemical dependency as a treatable illness and a public health problem. A bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, or a related field is required, along with experience working with high-risk youth or adults.

We offer a competitive hourly rate of $22.97 and a comprehensive benefit package, including medical, dental, vision, prescription coverage, life insurance, long-term disability, and EAP. Additionally, you will have access to paid-time-off, 10 paid holidays, and 401(k)/retirement options.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct services to patients in a residential setting, including group care, intake procedures, evaluation, individual and group counseling, milieu management, and supervision of patients.
  • Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary treatment team to develop and implement treatment plans.
  • Conduct intake procedures, evaluations, and assessments to identify patient needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Facilitate group educational sessions and provide individual counseling to patients.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, or a related field.
  • Experience working with high-risk youth or adults.
  • Strong understanding of chemical dependency as a treatable illness and a public health problem.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary treatment team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
