Mental Health Professional

About the Role:
The successful candidate will provide medical care and treatment to committed persons, focusing on behavioral health disorders. They will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans, ensuring compliance with all agency, local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to committed persons, including prescribing appropriate medications and offering on-site or tele-psychiatry services.Create and maintain multi-disciplinary treatment plans for all applicable persons served according to company and facility expectations.Assist in monitoring psychotropic medication usage and coordinating medication in a cost-efficient manner.Offer on-site coverage as assigned each week, provide 24/7 on-call services if applicable, and offer written summaries of history, diagnosis, and treatment course as required.Assist in crisis intervention needs and screen committed persons for possible transfer to outside psychiatric treatment facilities or other community mental health facilities when necessary.Qualifications & Requirements:
To be considered for this role, you must possess a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Degree, have previous correctional/detention facility experience, and meet the following requirements:
- Unrestricted current license, certification or registration in state of practice - must maintain all certifications, educational requirements, licensing, etc.
- Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration
- Current (and must maintain) lifesaving BLS and PALS (where applicable) certification through AHA
