Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our distribution center team. The primary duties encompass the preventive upkeep and repair of the facility's infrastructure, including plumbing, electrical systems, and utilities, alongside structural and material-handling apparatus. This role also entails managing projects related to all facility and material-handling equipment components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance on the facility's conveyor systems following industry-standard protocols and manuals.
  • Diagnose and repair basic electrical and mechanical issues associated with all material-handling equipment.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot motors, photo eyes, relays, proximity sensors, solenoids, motor starters, and other components as necessary.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of the facility's material handling, racking, and shelving systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance on the overall facility infrastructure.
  • Ensure the proper functioning of dock levelers and overhead doors.
  • Monitor and maintain appropriate water levels in forklift batteries, ensuring timely and correct charging.
  • Assist with janitorial tasks as needed.
  • Adhere to Loss Prevention and Safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
Ideal candidates will possess:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a warehouse setting or a comparable mix of training, education, and experience.
  • Forklift certification or a willingness to obtain certification; knowledge of forklift repair and troubleshooting is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools effectively.
  • The ability to work in various conditions, including confined spaces, exposure to dust, fumes, temperature variations, noise, and standing for extended periods on concrete or uneven surfaces.
  • Capability to work at elevated heights.
  • A willingness to perform limited overtime, including weekends and off-shift hours.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
