Position Summary

The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of maintenance operations within the facility. This role collaborates closely with Operations and Engineering teams to identify and address their maintenance requirements for both routine tasks and scheduled shutdowns, while also providing the necessary resources to fulfill these needs. The Supervisor is responsible for planning, organizing, controlling, integrating, and assessing the activities of the maintenance workforce. This position is instrumental in setting and tracking both short-term and long-term objectives that align with the company's mission and priorities. Additionally, the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor contributes to the development, implementation, and evaluation of strategies, processes, policies, systems, and budgets aimed at achieving operational goals within US Nitrogen.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prioritize the protection of the environment and the health and safety of employees, customers, and the surrounding communities as the foremost concern.
  • Design and manage programs, methodologies, systems, and practices aimed at reducing costs while enhancing employee and plant efficiency, safety, productivity, and reliability.
  • Oversee all maintenance activities (mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation) to ensure safe and effective execution during plant turnarounds, with a focus on minimizing costs and downtime.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators to ensure a robust and effective maintenance and reliability program is implemented and adhered to.
  • Assess current training programs and implement enhancements for maintenance technicians and staff.
  • Lead and manage site maintenance personnel to adopt best practices and provide technical guidance to lower costs and improve process uptime and mechanical reliability.
  • Direct the planning and scheduling of maintenance tasks, evaluating their effectiveness through established benchmarks.
  • Monitor maintenance expenditures to ensure compliance with budgetary constraints by adjusting priorities and forecasting future maintenance needs.
  • Coordinate and manage the engagement of external resources and contractors assigned to the facility.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team on capital project executions to ensure effective utilization of capital resources.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in maintenance, ideally within a chemical manufacturing setting.
Skills and Competencies
  • In-depth knowledge of Ammonia, Nitric Acid, and AnSol production processes.
  • Familiarity with chemical manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with strong organizational and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proven leadership, supervision, and mentoring capabilities.
  • Strong analytical, project management, research, and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Flexibility in scheduling and responsiveness is required.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is mandatory.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Asset Management Systems (EAM) or similar Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Understanding of PSM Mechanical Integrity, piping, and pressure vessel codes and regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of relevant maintenance metrics (KPIs) is essential.
Work Environment

US Nitrogen, LLC operates continuously throughout the year, and this position may involve exposure to various weather conditions on the plant site.
