Role Overview

The Senior Manager of Corporate Accounting plays a pivotal role in overseeing the financial integrity of the organization. This position is responsible for leading the month-end closing activities, ensuring accurate general ledger maintenance, and conducting thorough journal entry reviews.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the month-end closing process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of general ledger activities and account reconciliations.
  • Provide mentorship and hands-on support to team members, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability while ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Facilitate the preparation and review of comprehensive financial reporting packages on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Manage the consolidation of financial statements utilizing Oracle's FCCS tool and supervise inter-company balance eliminations.
  • Conduct detailed reviews and analyses of accounting transactions and financial statements across various business units, ensuring accuracy and proper classification.
  • Oversee the preparation of documentation for transaction flows related to 1031 exchanges and intercompany settlements.
  • Act as the primary contact for the annual external audit, coordinating with auditors and facilitating various audit processes.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance departmental efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure timely completion of tax-related deliverables in collaboration with the Corporate Tax Department.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 12 years of extensive accounting experience, with a strong background in managerial roles within a reputable Public Accounting firm or a complex corporate environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field; CPA certification is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing teams of five or more and collaborating effectively with a large number of internal stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Oracle ERP systems, particularly in GL Manager functionalities.
  • Experience in driving automation within Oracle modules to improve operational efficiency.
  • Proven ability to lead successful system implementations and maintain stable operations.
  • Advanced Excel skills with a focus on financial modeling and analysis.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with a focus on team development and accountability.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex financial information to diverse audiences.

Compensation: $160,000 - $180,000, with potential for a discretionary bonus based on skills and experience.
