Lunar Transportation Business Unit

We are seeking a talented Avionics Hardware Design Engineer to join our Lunar Transportation business unit, which develops Blue Origin's multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. Our mission is to develop sustainable infrastructure for transporting crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, test, and validate advanced electronic hardware for in-space cryocooler motor control applications.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to innovate and optimize motor controller performance.
  • Develop analog and/or digital boards that interact with avionics systems, including sensors, power systems, and motor controls.
  • Perform worst-case circuit and derating analyses, design for test/manufacture/cost (DFx), and support trades studies as required.
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Direct hands-on experience developing sophisticated commercial or aerospace electronic assemblies.
  • Direct hands-on experience with analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit analysis, simulation, design, test, debug, signal integrity, power, grounding, and general board layout principles.
  • Exposure to analog and digital filters, signal conditioning, and signal processing using discrete components.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduate degree in related engineering or technical field.
  • Proven expertise crafting high-reliability, safety-critical, Class 2/3 board assemblies.
  • Proficiency using Altium/Cadence OrCAD/Allegro (or similar tools) to craft sophisticated aerospace boards.
