Role Summary:

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer II to join our team at Blue Origin, where you will play a critical role in the development of avionics hardware for our space missions. As an avionics hardware specialist, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing avionics systems that ensure the success of our missions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop avionics hardware and software systems for space missions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure avionics systems meet safety and performance requirements
  • Develop and execute validation and verification strategies for avionics hardware
  • Work with the team responsible for hardening avionics hardware to the harsh space radiation environment
  • Participate in development of electronics test plans and reports as needed

Requirements:

  • B.S. (or advanced degree) in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Nuclear Science, or related field with 2+ years of experience in electronics design, analysis, and/or testing
  • Experience with benchtop testing/debugging circuit boards, simple PCB layout, and basic circuit analysis
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals, basic digital and analog circuit fundamentals, and familiarity with associated laboratory equipment
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic experience with Python and/or NI LabView programming and embedded software
  • Experience with test automation
  • Basic electronics lab skills include soldering, harnessing, use of oscilloscope, multimeter, and logic analyzer
