Role Overview
This position involves assessing patients and delivering inpatient speech therapy treatment plans as per physician directives. The role requires collaboration and communication with the healthcare team to ensure patients transition to the most suitable level of post-acute or home care, aiming to meet specific patient goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct evaluations and implement tailored treatment programs to support individual patient objectives.
  • Monitor patient responses to treatment and suggest modifications to enhance outcomes and ensure safety.
  • Maintain accurate patient records in line with documentation standards and organizational policies.
  • Ensure treatment protocols align with hospital quality and safety benchmarks, achieving desired patient safety results.
  • Adapt interactions to suit the unique needs of various patient populations, ensuring respect for privacy and effective communication.
  • Perform additional related duties as required.
Qualifications
Education:
Master's degree in speech language pathology is mandatory.

Experience:
Required: None.
Preferred: Experience in a clinical or hospital environment is advantageous.

Certifications:
Required:
- Valid Speech Pathologist license in the state of practice or eligibility for licensure by examination or reciprocity from another state.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Certification of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) must be obtained within two years of hire.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Proficient in utilizing computers, software, and web-based applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making abilities, adept at managing a variety of patient cases.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster effective relationships.
  • Willingness to travel between facilities as necessary.
Physical and Environmental Demands
The role requires frequent exertion of 10 to 20 pounds of force and occasional exertion of up to 100 pounds. The incumbent will work in a patient care environment, with potential exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials.
