Position Overview
The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a dedicated Program Manager to oversee our innovative Living-Learning Community (LLC) that emphasizes entrepreneurship. This role is pivotal in fostering a collaborative environment where students passionate about entrepreneurship can thrive together through shared experiences and educational opportunities. The Program Manager will report to the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies and collaborate closely with various stakeholders to enhance the LLC experience.
Key Responsibilities
The Program Manager will be responsible for the following:
- Acting as the primary point of contact and representative for the LLC, ensuring effective communication and engagement.
- Partnering with Student Affairs to facilitate recruitment, orientation, and the planning of extracurricular activities, including budget oversight.
- Coordinating with other Living-Learning Communities to create joint events that align with relevant themes and promote entrepreneurial initiatives.
- Working alongside the Academic Coordinator to organize events that complement the LLC curriculum, particularly during course sessions.
- Completing essential training related to student support and fiscal responsibilities to enhance administrative effectiveness.
- Providing regular updates and reports to the Associate Dean regarding participation metrics, budget status, and overall program evaluation.
- Engaging in leadership meetings to share insights and feedback with the Innovate Advisory Board.
- Collaborating with the Associate Dean and Advisory Board to establish partnerships that offer sponsorships, scholarships, and leadership opportunities for LLC participants.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must possess the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven experience in event planning, budget management, and program administration.
- Experience working with diverse groups and fostering inclusive environments.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with creativity and initiative.
Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- A Master’s degree.
- Experience or interest in higher education administration or student affairs.
- Background in designing, implementing, and assessing student programs.
- Experience in facilitating training sessions and leading meetings.
- Familiarity with Housing & Residence Life.
- Knowledge of entrepreneurship principles in a business context.
- A proactive approach to program development and leadership.
- A commitment to ethical leadership aligned with community values.
