Job Summary:
Atrium Health is seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in the treatment of cancer patients, working closely with Radiation Oncologists to plan and deliver ionizing radiation therapy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Treat patients with ionizing radiation in accordance with regulatory guidelines and under the supervision of the Chief Therapist.
- Monitor equipment parameters, document malfunctions, and understand emergency and safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate medical records and treatment schedules.
- Input treatment and simulation charge information into Aria.
- Document patient treatment charts.
- Understand emergency and fault procedures for linear accelerators and simulators.
- Recognize and report patient concerns and physical problems to appropriate personnel.
- Communicate instructions and procedures to patients and their families.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness in the clinic.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Therapeutic Radiology or international equivalent.
- ARRT registered or registry eligible, with a passing score within the first 90 days of employment.
- BLS certification per policy guidelines.
Physical Demands:
This position requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. The ability to lift and support 35 pounds is necessary for handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Intact senses of sight, hearing, smell, and touch are required, as well as finger dexterity and critical thinking skills.
