Reports directly to the Catering Supervisor.

Compensation and Benefits

COMPENSATION: $17.27/hour, commensurate with relevant experience.

Position Responsibilities

We are in search of a dedicated and skilled Culinary Services Cook to become an integral part of our vibrant catering team, supporting various campus events. The ideal candidate will be essential in ensuring the efficient delivery of catering services through large-scale food preparation and cooking.
  • Prepare and cook meals as needed for diverse campus catering functions.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cooking area and serving stations, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Follow provided instructions and work autonomously once briefed.
  • Apply knowledge of various cooking techniques to cater to the diverse requirements of our events.
  • Comply with established health and safety protocols in all food service activities.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal skills and maintain professionalism in interactions with students, staff, and the public.
  • Possess basic computer skills, including proficiency in email and electronic calendar management.
  • Availability for occasional weekend shifts as catering events may take place during this time.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical demands outlined here represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.
  • Continuously - Use hands dexterously, talk, or hear.
  • Frequently - Stand, walk, or sit.
  • Occasionally - 1-33% - Reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop/kneel/crouch or crawl, taste or smell, or lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Work may involve lifting over 50 pounds and exposure to potential hazards, which could lead to physical injury.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two years of experience in large-scale food preparation.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Commitment to adhering to health and safety standards in a food service context.
