Acute Care Nurse Practitioner

Key Responsibilities:- Provide advanced nursing care to patients with complex acute, critical, and/or chronic health conditions in a clinic or hospital setting.
- Conduct independent and physician-supervised rounding on units, ensuring seamless patient care.
- Perform relevant patient evaluations and assessments, and provide appropriate treatment, including medication management.
- Coordinate and implement patient care plans, collaborating with healthcare teams to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Assist in collecting patient histories, screening for co-morbidities, and providing guidance on preventative health care.
- Perform physical examinations and provide episodic care under the supervision of a physician.
- Order and interpret laboratory, diagnostic, and radiographic tests, ensuring accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.
- Monitor treatment programs and inform attending physicians of pertinent medical information.
- Facilitate patient education on medical processes, medication, nutrition, and health promotion or preventative health care.
- Assist physicians in formulating therapeutic decisions, ensuring evidence-based practice.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare charts for review and counter-signature by physicians.
- Prepare and care for supplies and equipment, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
- Respond to emergency situations, demonstrating expertise and composure under pressure.
- Current Texas licensure as a Registered Nurse.
- Current Texas licensure as an APRN-NP.
- Current specialty certification as required by department, excluding FNP certification unless paired with a post-master's certification in specialty.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or specialty certification as required by department.
- Masters in Nursing as NP or Masters in Nursing with completion of a post-master's Nurse Practitioner Certification Program.
- None; previous experience in area of clinical focus preferred.
