Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner to join our team at August Healthcare at Iliff. As a key member of our Respiratory Care Services department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide accurate patient evaluation, testing, diagnostics, and monitoring under medical direction to ensure quality patient care.
  • Implement therapeutic aspects of respiratory care under the direction of the department medical director and in compliance with department policy and procedures.
  • Perform respiratory care assessments of patients in an accurate, thorough, and timely manner to ensure the delivery of effective therapy.
  • Monitor patient rehabilitation goals for appropriateness and consistency of therapy.
  • Administer respiratory-related medication to the tracheobronchial tree according to physician orders, B.R.C., AARC standards, and department policy and procedures.
  • Document patient assessment, clinical parameters, and medication administration accurately and consistently.
  • Provide ongoing care to patients requiring oxygen therapy, artificial airway management, mechanical ventilation, and weaning, among others.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved Respiratory Therapy Program.
  • NBRC and state license credential.
  • Ability to recognize and understand diseases process, as well as the psychological and physiological aspects and needs of patients and families.
  • Competence in clinical performance, analysis, and understanding of diagnostic procedures.
Work Environment

Work will be performed primarily indoors at one of our long-term healthcare facilities, throughout all areas, including in resident rooms, and on carpeted and/or tiled floors.

Physical and Sensory Requirements

Requires handling of average-weight objects up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
