Position Summary:

The Information Systems department is integral in providing the necessary tools and automation for effective data management, ensuring data is organized, stored, and easily accessible. We utilize a combination of hardware and software solutions to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy.

The primary responsibility of this position is to oversee the installation, maintenance, and support of all information systems-related hardware and software. This role may also involve recommending solutions tailored to specific operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver functional and technical assistance to BlueScope Recycling personnel.
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee the management of assets, uptime, and performance of networks, systems, and machinery as assigned.
  • Ensure the maintenance and operational readiness of standard company hardware and software.
  • Document all requests and ensure completion to the satisfaction of users.
  • Record resolutions for future reference and analysis.
  • Identify and report emerging trends in support processes and technologies.
  • Provide network support to employees by collaborating with infrastructure teams.
  • Prioritize requests in the ticketing system and allocate resources accordingly.
  • Install and maintain authorized software on workstations.
  • Process requisitions for new hardware and software upon approval.
  • Coordinate tasks with team members and provide constructive feedback.
  • Engage in team meetings, offering insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to understand and support new technologies implemented within the organization.
  • Willingness to travel as required, up to 5-10%.
Qualifications:

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in desktop support, network administration, and hardware support.
  • Experience with networking, PC, and server management systems (virtual servers preferred).
  • Proficiency in deploying and supporting O365.
  • Experience in supporting multiple locations and users.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory support and configuration.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
