About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Cost Engineer to join our team at Amazon Data Services, Inc. in the AMER region. As a key member of our Cost Control team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of our Data Center construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize tools and templates for bid analysis and cost management to ensure accurate and timely cost estimates.
  • Engage and manage third-party Quantity Surveyor vendors to ensure seamless collaboration and effective cost control.
  • Communicate cost control goals to all stakeholders, ensuring a clear understanding of project objectives and expectations.
  • Identify Value Engineering opportunities in the design and quantify the savings to optimize project costs.
  • Monitor and mitigate project risks, providing timely and effective communication to the broader team.
  • Update and maintain a repository of historical data to inform future project decisions.
  • Develop and track cost performance metrics to ensure project alignment with budget and schedule.
  • Analyze and provide timely feedback on Construction vendor proposals using AWS benchmark data.
  • Create accurate bid leveling documents to ensure transparency and fairness in the bidding process.
  • Provide cost analysis of schedule and design variations to inform project decisions.
  • Validate the final award amount and scope based on contract documents, including schedule.
  • Implement, maintain, and execute all cost control, change management, progress, and performance reporting.
  • Validate change cost impacts to ensure accurate and timely cost estimates.
  • Ensure vendor invoices are accurate and timely, and support the construction team with project closeout and final payments.
  • Deliver results for multiple projects with competing priorities on a consistent basis.
