About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Controls System Development Engineer to join our team at AWS. As a key member of our Data Center Controls team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing controls systems for our global infrastructure.

Your primary focus will be on PLC programming, technical writing, electrical schematic interpretation, and system development. You will work closely with our team to ensure the highest standards of safety and security while delivering seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop controls systems for our data centers
  • Program PLCs and develop technical documentation
  • Interpret electrical schematics and create IO lists
  • Develop full system designs, including scaling and operational performance
  • Configure OT networking and OS settings
  • Perform root cause analysis of mechanical automation systems

We offer a competitive compensation package, including a base salary range of $116,300/year to $201,200/year, depending on location. We also provide equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation as part of our total compensation package.

Basic Qualifications
  • 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 1+ years of designing or architecting systems experience
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with PowerShell, Python, Ruby, or Java
  • Experience working in an Agile environment using Scrum methodology
  • 3 years Data Center Design, Commissioning, or Construction Experience
