About Us:
The Safety & Industrial Hygiene division is dedicated to safeguarding the health and safety of our workforce. This is achieved through thorough hazard evaluations, risk mitigation strategies, engineering controls, and adherence to regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate potential workplace hazards in research initiatives and develop strategies to minimize risks and accidents.
- Conduct project assessments with an emphasis on Process Safety Management, focusing on hazard identification and mitigation through engineering solutions.
- Enhance the organization's safety programs to ensure comprehensive protection for all employees.
- Collaborate with a team to execute safety and health initiatives and maintain compliance with regulations.
Daily Tasks:
- Lead, facilitate, or engage in risk assessments for projects and workplaces to identify, analyze, and address risks.
- Organize and deliver training on risk analysis methodologies as needed.
- Oversee the application of Process Safety Management (PSM) protocols and assist Program Managers in implementing PSM best practices in relevant projects.
- Utilize knowledge of chemistry and physics to evaluate projects, ensuring the mitigation of hazardous conditions and compatibility of materials used.
- Support Incident Investigation teams in analyzing safety incidents and aid in the development of process tools and action plans to address identified safety gaps.
- Provide Emergency Response assistance as necessary.
- Design and conduct safety training for staff on process safety and OSHA regulations.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Process Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or Public Health is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Process Safety Management, Hazard Analyses, OSHA compliance, and/or Industrial Hygiene.
- At least 3 years of knowledge in chemistry and its implications for processes and potential personnel exposure.
- 3 years of solid experience in chemical and engineering principles, along with integrated risk assessments focusing on safety, health, and environmental protection.
- A valid driver's license is mandatory.
Additional Information:
The selected candidate will undergo a government security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information. U.S. citizenship is required.
