Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Supervisor to lead our production operations at the New IKO Fiberglass Mat Plant in Chester, South Carolina. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the manufacture of IKO Mat Tech rolls while maintaining high standards for safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manufacturing Leadership: Provide guidance and direction to production employees to ensure a productive work environment and high-quality products.
  • Safety Culture: Promote a strong safety culture where employees believe that all injuries are preventable. Investigate and prepare reports on safety near-misses, injuries, and workplace hazards.
  • Quality and Production: Ensure adherence to Company and OSHA safety standards, conduct safety workplace inspections, and facilitate safety programs such as behavior-based safety observations.
  • Employee Development: Provide training and development opportunities to employees to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Communication: Conduct regular crew meetings to provide production employees with the information they need to do their jobs.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other Supervisors to achieve plant SQDCP metrics.
  • Process Improvement: Develop, recommend, and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and eliminate root causes of problems and ensure corrective actions are implemented and sustained.
  • Performance Management: Evaluate team members' performance and provide coaching and guidance to improve employee's skill sets.
  • Scheduling and Attendance: Plan and manage scheduling for production team and maintain employee time and attendance in Kronos.
  • Work Environment: Ensure a clean and safe working environment is always maintained.
Requirements:
  • Education: 4-year degree in an Engineering field preferred or equivalent production leadership experience.
  • Experience: Experience, knowledge, or training in Lean Manufacturing and 5S.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and leadership ability.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication (written, verbal, presentation and listening) and analytical skills.
  • Operational Improvement: Proven track record of operational improvement through employee engagement.
  • Time Management: Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office preferred.
  • Mentorship: Ability to grow and mentor talent.
  • Financial Acumen: Possesses strong process and financial acumen.
  • Team Building: Ability to effectively motivate and bring together a new team with everyone focused on Operational Excellence.
