About the Position

The Electrical Engineer II - Systems provides engineering support for internal and external customers, including system protection, analysis, project management, substation maintenance, and SCADA systems. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and experience with system protection, analysis, and project management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform system protection, including relay setting development and programming, system sectionalizing, and fault current analysis.
  • Conduct system analysis, including distribution work plans, transmission planning, and load flow studies.
  • Provide support to the Operations team, including onsite troubleshooting, development, and review of switching orders.
  • Manage projects, including reviewing and developing scope, schedule, and budget with consultants.
  • Develop substation maintenance work plans, including transformer oil testing and processing, equipment electrical testing, and wildlife protection and mitigation.
  • Develop and maintain the District's SCADA System, including configuration and programming of devices, development and maintenance of HMI screens, and deploying automation schemes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
  • 4-7 years of experience in utility or power engineering.
  • Valid Driver's license.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred.
