Job SummaryWe are looking for a talented engineer to design and implement SATCOM solutions for DoD customer requirements. This role will be located onsite at our headquarters in Germantown, MD.
Responsibilities- Analyze customer requirements and maintain product roadmaps
- Lead partner SATCOM equipment evaluation, integration, and procurement activities
- Coordinate product line enhancements and partner component configurations and integration activities
- Manage Product Quality and Configuration Management activities
- Coordinate systems acceptance testing
- Design customer solutions for specific customer and product requirements
- Specify equipment, generate, and issue purchase requisitions for equipment and services
- Manage engineering activities, including transmission planning, link budget analysis, network design, budgetary pricing, network enhancements, and technical briefings
- Support RFP responses, including requirements, compliance, and gap analysis
- Support Business Development activities as needed, providing support to the program team
- Bachelor's Degree in a Technical Field or combination of education and experience
- Relevant experience includes military experience on similar complex SATCOM equipment
- Must be capable of obtaining and holding a U.S. government security clearance
- Has experience working with US Government customers
- Travel approx. 10%
- At least three years' experience in network design
- At least three years' experience in the following: IP network design, addressing, and routing; M&C systems and SNMP architecture and Network Management Systems; Communications systems design and implementation; RF systems/SATCOM system design/implementation, modulation schemes/encoding skills; Understands spectrum management and planning
- Familiarity with satellite modems and gateway configuration and operations
- Familiarity with electronic test equipment, including Spectrum analyzers, power meters, signal generators, and other common use test equipment
- Familiarity with a wide range of satellite communications systems, including COTP and COTM in different environments, such as land, land mobile, maritime, or aviation environments
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills (oral and written)
- Ability to effectively interact with management, technical resources, and sales personnel
- Excellent organizational and team skills
- Ability to read and interpret procedures, work instructions, schematics, diagrams, and assembly instructions
- Experience working in a military environment
- Excellent written and oral skills
- Ability to travel, interface directly with the customer, work independently or as part of a team, and provide written status to management
- Experience with MS Office products, including Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Visio
