Electrical Systems Design Engineer

EchoStar Corporation is a leading provider of satellite communication solutions. We are seeking an Electrical Systems Design Engineer to join our Hughes Network Systems division.

This position will design and develop the electrical systems and avionics for the connectivity system, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with experience in designing and developing electrical systems for commercial aircraft.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and design electrical, avionics, connectors, and related systems for Hughes' broadband internet connectivity product.
  • Select and source electrical components and materials, considering factors such as reliability, durability, and compatibility with aviation standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate electrical systems into the overall aircraft design.
  • Develop test plans and procedures, oversee testing activities, and analyze test results to verify the performance and safety of electrical systems.
  • Stay up to date with aviation regulations and certification requirements, and ensure that all electrical systems meet relevant standards and guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aviation, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 7-10 years of experience in electrical engineering with a focus on aviation or aerospace.
  • Strong knowledge of aviation regulations and standards (e.g. FAA, EASA) and experience with aircraft design methodologies.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific tools and technologies (DO-254, DO-160).
