SOSi is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our team of dedicated professionals. In this role, you will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for network/transport (LAN/BAN/WAN) initiatives within the customer's Area-of-Responsibility (AOR).

As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth network systems analysis and providing recommendations. You will also configure Layer-2/Layer-3 devices, implement approved changes on production enterprise/data center networks, and collaborate closely with various IT teams including Systems Engineering, Systems Operations, Network Operations, and the Enterprise Service Desk (ESD).

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, developing, and implementing approved LAN/WAN/cryptographic architectures to support data integration plans. This includes determining functional testing strategies and documenting the results.
  • Designing, developing, and implementing National Security Agency (NSA) approved Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) capability packages and Taclane encryption methods.
  • Configuring, supporting, and troubleshooting External Border Gateway Protocol (eBGP) routing within a Palo Alto environment.
  • Providing Tier-3 support to network-related issues. You will review and troubleshoot network, transport, and protocol-related issues, acting as a point of escalation for incidents.
  • Developing, documenting, and standardizing network configurations.
  • Performing network discovery and assessment: inventorying and identifying network architecture and components (e.g., network devices, IOS versions, device capabilities/configurations, IP addresses/subnets, VPNs, circuit information, WAN protocols, etc.). Employ scripts and related network tools to automate data collection of networking components and relevant network device configurations.
  • Coordinating internal and external resources relevant to network and secure transport engineering initiatives.
  • Reviewing customer requirements and recommending solutions, including Lists of Materials (LOM), proposals, and related supporting documents (e.g., solution diagrams, implementation timelines, etc.).
  • Interacting with circuit providers (e.g., DISA) and managing (coordinating) required circuit actions.
  • Upholding the integrity and security of network devices and systems according to Department of Defense (DoD) Secure Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIGs).
  • Reviewing work efforts/implementations and contributing to analysis, After-Action-Reports (AAR). Regularly collecting and summarizing pertinent network-related accomplishments, issues, and concerns. Completing activity reports in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Ensuring compliance of custody and ownership of Government equipment and related components.
  • Participating in related solution technologies and special projects, as required.
