Job Summary

As a key member of the Calpine team, the Maintenance Manager will oversee the safe and economical daily and long-term maintenance of equipment at assigned power plants. This role ensures the safety of employees, contractors, and the public during maintenance activities in operating plants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate schedules and conduct mechanical, electrical, and I&C maintenance repair and preventative maintenance.
  • Organize and oversee contract repair shop work.
  • Develop and maintain computerized maintenance management programs.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental and safety regulations during plant maintenance activities.
  • Schedule materials, equipment, and personnel for plant outages and overhauls.
  • Participate in the planning and scheduling of plant activities.
  • Coordinate plant maintenance outages with local hosts and utilities.
  • Maintain needed site spare parts in coordination with maintenance personnel and the Plant Administrator.
  • Develop and monitor Maintenance Department budgets.
  • Develop contracts and oversee the performance of contractors required for on-site maintenance, services, equipment rentals, and maintenance training.
  • Manage new equipment warranties and Long Term Service Agreements (LTSA) as applicable.
  • Be on-call 24 hours/day, 7 days/week to respond to potential power plant problems.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma, degree from technical/vocational school, or equivalent; prefer Associates or Bachelors Degree.
  • Previous work leadership or senior-level contributor experience.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 5+ years of power generation experience in gas turbine power plant maintenance and 3+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Intimate knowledge and experience with the repair and maintenance practices of heavy frame combustion turbines.
  • Valid state driver's license.
