Key Responsibilities
  • Assist patients in understanding hospital policies, procedures, and services, and provide solutions to problems and concerns.
  • Identify priority patient satisfaction issues and suggest recommendations for resolution.
  • Educate patients and their families about patient rights in accordance with state law.
  • Process overpayment requests, post-contractual adjustments, write-offs, or transfers to resolve credit balances.
  • Communicate with third-party payers in response to overpayment requests and/or to obtain insurance hierarchy information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by direct supervisor.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years or more of related experience and general knowledge of payer-specific or medical billing.
  • Previous experience in working credit balance accounts and processing patient and insurance overpayments is a plus.
