Role Overview:
The Supervisor of Maintenance Operations will lead a team within the Rolling Department. This position is responsible for providing guidance and direction to ensure efficient production processes in a lean manufacturing environment.

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the incumbent will focus on productivity, safety, quality, and effective problem-solving in both planned and unplanned scenarios.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring a safe work environment and minimizing harm to personnel and the ecosystem.
  • Leading safety discussions and conducting job-specific safety reviews.
  • Managing team performance with an emphasis on quality, safety, and timely delivery.
  • Developing team members through challenging assignments and training opportunities.
  • Allocating tasks fairly and clearly among crew members.
  • Establishing appropriate staffing arrangements based on operational needs.
  • Leading a skilled maintenance team that values diversity and is responsive to customer needs.
  • Applying root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques to maintain production levels.
  • Managing assets effectively to ensure optimal equipment operation and longevity.
  • Advancing business objectives related to quality, cost efficiency, and waste reduction.
  • Making informed decisions regarding employee performance and fostering a collaborative environment.

Occasionally, this role will involve navigating sensitive interpersonal situations.


Shift Details:
  • This position requires 12-hour shifts, rotating approximately every 6 to 12 weeks based on business needs.

Basic Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED) from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 3 years of hands-on maintenance experience.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience with direct reports.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States is required.

Verification of employment eligibility will be necessary upon hire.

  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This role is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), which necessitates U.S. person status.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • A mechanical background is advantageous.
  • Experience in a unionized environment is a plus.
  • Familiarity with company policies and HR practices is beneficial.
  • A working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles is essential for achieving business goals.

Compensation:
  • Base Salary: USD $70,000 to $80,000.
  • Full relocation assistance is available.
  • Commission compensation is included.
  • This position is not bonus eligible.
  • Overtime eligibility is not applicable.
  • Interview travel reimbursement is available.

Candidate Profile:
  • 2+ to 5 years of experience required.
  • Associate management experience is necessary.
  • Minimum education requirement: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Willingness to travel: Never.
