Job Summary

The Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Security Officer to join our team. As a Security Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, patients, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to and assist with medical emergencies, alarms, and other security-related occurrences.
  • Perform walking and vehicle patrols of all ANTHC campus buildings, grounds, and parking lots.
  • Conduct security surveillance on campus property, patrol buildings and grounds, check doors and alarm systems, and report any unusual situations.
  • Provide customer service to patients and visitors, provide information and assistance while controlling access to facilities and enforcing visiting procedures within scope of authority.
  • Warn violators of safety and security rules and restrain persons engaging in hostile or criminal acts.
  • Protect accident and crime scenes and secure evidence.
  • Rend first-aid and Basic Life Support as a first responder.
  • Record log entries and incident reports according to established department guidelines.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must have and be able to maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Must meet insurance standards and maintain insurability under ANTHC's insurance program.
  • Must possess Basic Life Support within 6 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associates degree in Criminal Justice, Police Administration, or related field.
  • Previous security, law enforcement, or military experience.
Working Conditions

The Security Officer must maintain physical health to effectively deal with stressful and potentially hazardous emergency situations. Must be able to successfully pass a FIT test. Must be able to lift approximately 50 pounds. Must be able to sit, bend, and reach. ANMC is not a latex-free facility; an employee should expect to work in an environment where latex may be present. May be required to work outside the traditional work schedule. May be called out to work off-shift in emergency situations.
