Job Summary:

Kleinfelder is seeking a skilled Water Treatment Plant Operator to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our water treatment plants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain pumps, motors, and blowers to ensure optimal plant performance.
  • Complete and follow-up on work orders and process control monitoring to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and record flow meters and system run hours to optimize plant efficiency.
  • Service and maintain equipment and overall plant to prevent downtime and ensure safety.
  • Clean sand filters and media filters to maintain water quality.
  • Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot electrical controls to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Collect samples for analysis and maintain chain of custody to ensure accurate results.
  • Log plant operation details, on computer and in writing, and prepare reports to track performance.
  • Monitor treatment processes and apply standard operational adjustments based on results to optimize plant performance.

Requirements:

  • Good and effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
  • Good analytical and organizational abilities to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Possess a minimum certification in both water and wastewater with some mechanical or electrical experience preferred.
  • Committed to following established policies and procedures to ensure compliance and safety.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with 75% field work and 25% office time.
