Environmental Compliance Specialist Position Overview:

Marathon Petroleum Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Compliance Specialist to join our team.

About the Job:

The Environmental Compliance Specialist will be responsible for ensuring environmental compliance across refinery operations. This includes developing, implementing, and monitoring programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement environmental compliance programs.
  • Prepare required regulatory reports in areas of responsibility.
  • Provide regulatory compliance assistance to other departments within the refinery.
  • Review refinery projects for regulatory compliance and develop compliance schedules.
  • Review new regulations for potential impacts on the refinery.

Requirements:

  • B.S. degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or related discipline.
  • 5 years of experience working in an environmental role preferred.
  • Experience with interpreting and implementing environmental regulations.
  • Ability to research, analyze, and troubleshoot problems.
  • Ability to build consensus and follow up with internal and external customers.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience performing an environmental role within an industrial setting.
  • Preferred experience working in the petroleum refining industry or chemical industry.
  • Preferred experience with Greenhouse Gas, Air Emission Inventory, Toxic Release Inventory, Continuous Emission Monitoring, and Boiler Heater MACT.
